Summit Spotlight

Across the country, there are schools and districts doing extraordinary work. They serve communities rich in culture, resilience and ambition, often with fewer resources and more complexity than most. And they deliver for their students. Summit Spotlight shares these stories in their own words: showcasing leaders who show what's possible when a community refuses to settle.

Each campus and district featured here is a Summit K12 partner, and we're proud to help tell their stories.

Laredo ISD

In August 2026, the Texas Education Agency named Laredo ISD an A-rated district, with a district accountability score of 90. Every one of its 28 campuses earned an A or a B: 18 A's and 10 B's, with no campus rated C or D. The district also earned an A for financial management. In Laredo, on the Texas–Mexico border, it's proof of what high expectations and steady, focused work in every classroom can achieve.

United ISD

In August 2026, the Texas Education Agency named United ISD an A-rated district for the seventh year in a row, with a district accountability score of 90. Only 30 of Texas’s 1,202 districts have earned an A every year since the A–F system began. Seventeen United ISD campuses earned A’s, and seven of them moved up from a B. In Laredo, on the Texas–Mexico border, where most students come from economically disadvantaged homes and many are growing up bilingual, it shows that excellence can be sustained year after year, not just reached once.
