POSITION OVERVIEW
Summit K12 is seeking Instructional Support Specialists with experience in teaching, coaching, or school leadership to join our national Professional Development Team. The ideal candidate has a robust understanding of language development. The Instructional Coach will provide onsite and online high-quality professional development for teachers and leaders who are implementing our Summit K12 Connect to Literacy solution. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in teaching, coaching, leadership, curriculum knowledge, professional development delivery, and a deep understanding of instructional strategies and pedagogy to support English learners. The goal is to empower teachers and school leaders to effectively implement evidence-based practices aligned to our solutions, thereby nurturing an environment conducive to student success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure Successful Implementations
Empower teachers and school leaders to effectively implement evidence-based practices aligned to our solution, thereby nurturing an environment conducive to student success.
- Professional Development Delivery
Plan, organize, conduct, and facilitate online and on-site professional development learning on Summit K12 solutions.
- Support and Coaching
Facilitate LMS navigational support, demonstration lessons, individual coaching sessions, and leadership sessions (planning and support).
- Collaborate for Excellence
Collaborate with other team members, both within the PD team and across departments, to ensure that materials, methods, and professional learning meet the highest standards to achieve optimal results.

Commit to life-long learning and professional development, including staying up-to-date on evidence-based practices.
- Adapt and Improve
Proactively seek out feedback and adapt practices based on feedback and what leads to improved student outcomes.

Become an expert in our company’s online English Language Development solution (Connect to Literacy).

Ensure classroom equity through tailored professional development sessions for teachers, coaches, and leaders.

Willingness to travel within designated areas.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Passionate about multilingualism and deep understanding of English Language Learners.
- Demonstrate a robust understanding of best practices in supporting multilingual learners.
- 5+ years teaching experience leading sustained coaching sessions and professional development for educators in K-12.
- Able to analyze data and use it to inform practice, and get results.
- Proficiency in providing support to educators through both online and in-person learning platforms.
- Demonstrate effectiveness in time management amidst competing priorities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of technology-based productivity tools including Microsoft and Google Applications.
- Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred.
ADVANCED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years of K–12 teaching and leadership experience, leading to demonstrable results for students.
- Master’s or Advanced degree in education.
- Collaborate with district and school leaders to develop and refine annual professional development plans.
- Experience working on collaborative projects with leaders and teachers.
- Proven knowledge of adult learning principles and experience applying them when delivering learning experiences to adults.
- High comfort with navigating ambiguity and responding confidently to in-the-moment challenges or concerns in order to meet customer needs.

OPERATING RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work performed and composed of a variety of different tasks, calling for use of judgment; and compliance with generally accepted administrative principles and corporate policy and procedure.

This position requires reliable home internet that can support video calls on Google Meet and Zoom and a quiet, professional place to deliver remote professional development.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be willing to travel
Travel is required and considered an essential function of the job. Travel includes overnight stays at hotels and transportation via car, plane, and/or public transportation. Driving in small and large cities is required. All travel-related expenses for professional development delivery are initially paid in advance by the Instructional Coach (eg, lodging, daily meals). Reimbursements for these expenses – including mileage if driving your own car and compensation for time traveling – will be processed 2–3 weeks following submission of the expense reimbursement requests.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
